Our History
Lands Use
The entirety of the subject lands (including all land parcels) have a long-standing history of resource-based recreational use dating back to the 1960s. Previously operating under the name Norland Cross Country Ski & Recreation Park, the site has provided unserviced camping and recreational-based uses such as hiking and cycling along a 30-kilometre network of forested trails, in addition to canoeing and kayaking on Perch Lake, with seasonal fishing activities permitted within designated areas. Trails from the attached map are included within the concept plan. The park is currently operated by Joseph Miller and remains open to guests for recreational use. The subject lands were closed only temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic due to government-mandated restrictions, demonstrating ongoing use since its genesis.
